The Stour Enterprise Centre is a dedicated business support centre located in Shipston-on-Stour, South Warwickshire for small and medium businesses anywhere in the local area. For anyone running a business, or thinking of setting up a business, this is the “go to” place for advice, support, training and dedicated facilities for people getting set up in business, entrepreneurs running their businesses from home, or businesses who need access to a professional office space part-time for meetings, training or events to help them grow.
The Stour Enterprise Centre provides low cost, flexible office, meeting and conference facilities, along with internet access workstations, business support services and training programs, to support enterprise development within the Stour Valley region.
Well-appointed meeting rooms, a board room, or an event and training room can be booked for flexible periods of time from half a day, day, week or month, whatever is appropriate.
The Stour Enterprise Centre is a not-for final profit organisation operating under the Stour Community Interest Company and supported by the Stour United Businesses group. There is a Management Team of three people who oversee the running of the SEC.

Job Description

Following on from the initial set-up of the SEC we now require a Volunteer Business Centre Coordinator to work on a voluntary basis for a period of around 6 months. We envisage the role to take around 4 days per week and it is based partly in the SEC but also requires the ability to travel round the area in order to help promote the SEC and meet potential clients. The role would suit a retired business person, who wishes to use their expertise to help and encourage others. The Volunteer Business Centre Coordinator will work with the Management Team to achieve the stated goals and secure the future of the SEC.


The candidate will have

- business experience at a senior or management level
- ability to work alone and in a small team
- self-motivation
- ideally have knowledge of marketing campaigns
- good knowledge of the Shipston area and ideally live locally
- driving licence and car

Key Responsibilities

- Organise events and training at the SEC, liaise with training providers, and promote these courses and events
- Oversee current processes and procedures and ensure they are working and link together
- Co-ordinate communications between all stake-holders
- Communicate with current and potential clients
