The Person

The candidate will require proven analytical and problem solving skills, ideally of graduate calibre. He/She has to be committed and flexible with the proven ability to work to tight deadlines on a range of projects within our busy development environment.

The candidate has to be highly self motivated and a strong communicator who is able to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical people alike both internally and to customers. Typically our team retain a good sense of humour whilst working in a relaxed but thoroughly professional manner.

Most importantly, the role requires a person who is able to inspire, lead, and mentor the development team successfully. So he/she must be capable of and have experience of managing a small team of developers, setting agreed targets and monitoring progress. In line with this experience of creating a structured and disciplined development environment within set guidelines or methodology ( e.g. Scrum/Agile ) is desirable.

The Role

This is a role for a .NET Development Team Lead based in the Astech office in Shipston On Stour, Warwickshire. The role is to work as a senior contributor, team manager and mentor in leading the development of our MS .NET applications, with potential progression to be trained and work with mobile application development including iPad & iPhone apps.

Technical/Development Skills

Strong skills in Object Oriented development using .Net , c#, XML, Web-Services, MS SQL, XHTML, CSS
Must possess a deep understanding of the full lifecycle of software development processes.
Must be proficient in analysing/Interpreting Business Process requirements and contributing to the generation of technical specifications.
MS Windows Workflow foundation
Experience of complying to W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 1.0
XHTML Transitional, XHTML Strict

DotNetNuke, Sharepoint/MOSS, Ajax,
Knowledge and awareness of the following standards:
Working Draft Standards: Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) 1.0
W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0
Experience of developing applications in the Local Government sector.
Knowledge of e-gif, e-GMS, IPSV/GCL.
